Long Walk Home

Peter Gabriel

Having watched the film Rabbit Proof Fence, the true story of a young Aborigine who was removed from her mother to a government institution because she was half European, I was keen to have a copy of the sound-track, which is beautiful and evocative.

I have long been a fan of Peter Gabriel. Here, he uses traditional european and aborigine instruments, animal sounds, and his own haunting voice to create an album that stands alone or serves as a powerful reminder of a wonderful tale of human triumph over adversity.

I love it!

OK that was stupid of me, I just wondered where all your blog had gone!

Then after 30 seconds of bemusement I noticed you are a complete blog addict and have thousands of them! (ok slight fib, but you have got lots!)

It's my attempt at filing! Sometimes things can become so random they get chaotic.

Peter Gabrial lives in Box not that far from me, though I've never met him. He has a lovely web site:

with his own web radio. I think Solsbury Hill is my favourite but so many of his tracks are superb.

I love Solsbury Hill, too. I don't think there's much I dislike, actually.

The only one I don't like - forget the name - is about the burgler creeping into a home - great song, but very creepy!
Check out this site when you get a chance.

There are rumours he may reunite with Genesis later this year.
